Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. We collect only what we need to offer and support Midi2Macro and help you when something goes wrong. We never sell your data and the app itself runs entirely on your computer.
The app
Midi2Macro has no analytics and doesn't watch what you do. Your macros, profiles and settings stay on your computer.
The app only contacts us in three situations:
Activating a licence. The app sends your licence key and an anonymous code that identifies your computer so we can confirm the key is valid and enable it for your machine. After that it can run completely offline.
Checking for updates. If you turn this on, the app tells us which version you have and whether you're on Windows or Mac so we can tell you whether there's a newer version available. You can switch it off in Settings at any time.
Leaving a review. If you choose to rate the app, we receive your rating, your comment and the name you enter. If your licence is activated, the app suggests the name on it, but you can change it to whatever you like. We may show your review and that name on our website.
Buying Midi2Macro
Purchases go through our Shopify store and Shopify handles the payment. We never see your card details. We receive your name, email address and what you bought. We use these to send your licence key and downloads, to help you if you contact us and to tell you about things that affect your licence, such as sending Midi2Macro 1 owners their free Midi2Macro 2 key. We don't send you marketing emails unless you've asked for them.
Contacting us
When you use the contact or support form, we receive your name, email address and message and only use them to reply. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to keep out spam bots, so Google's privacy policy and terms apply to that check.
The website and anonymous stats
Midi2Macro.com uses Google Analytics so we can see which pages people read and how they found us. Google Analytics sets cookies, but you can block them in your browser and the site still works.
We also count downloads and update checks so we know how many people use each version. Those numbers aren't linked to you.
Who else handles your data
Shopify runs the store and payments. Google provides the website analytics and spam protection. We host our services securely on AWS. Each of them gets only what they need to do that job. We don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Your data, your call
We keep your details for as long as we need them to support you and your licence. You can ask us at any time to see what we hold about you, correct it or delete it. If we delete your purchase details we can't resend your licence key later, so we'll check with you first.

If this policy changes we'll update this page and the date at the top.
